Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
Posted by Jason Sandler, Unknown, Unknown on 1/30/2018

During a recent meeting, one of the participants was explaining a frustration with a very strong contributor to their company—a contributor otherwise known as a culture crusher, or one who drains the organization of their morale. We have all worked with individuals that rebel against the team structure and prefer to strive for individual accomplishments at the expense of the team's morale and culture, but it reminded me of an article I read on LinkedIn called "High Performing Jerks = Culture Crushers!" by Matthew Francis. I hope you'll take a few minutes to read it.

While I later reflected on this meeting and the article, I was quickly reminded how fortunate I am to be part of a very strong team in Dallas. In fact, I work with many talented professionals throughout the country. Maybe that's the difference between this culture crusher and a guy like me—a feeling of gratitude.

I hope each of us does our part to contribute to a positive work culture. I'd like to see us all looking ahead and trusting that, if we are true to ourselves, good things will quickly follow. Live on the high road, despite the efforts of others to try and divert you from that road—do not give them permission; don’t take the bait. Keep doing the right things the right way for the right reasons and build a strong brand.
