Harris County FCU selects new vice president of information systems

Harris County Federal Credit Union has named Stephen Farias as its new vice president of information systems effective April 15. Credit Union Resources conducted the executive search for the $160 million credit union. 

Farias’ information technology expertise and experience in the credit union industry will be a valuable asset to Harris County FCU. His passion for innovative technologies, vendor management, and network security will help Harris County FCU continue to provide exceptional service to its members.

Farias comes to Harris County FCU from Members Choice Credit Union in Houston, Texas, where he served as CIO and senior vice president, information technology. He was responsible for overseeing the company’s technology initiatives, as well as establishing the strategic direction of the company’s information systems. At Members Choice, Farias acted as an advocate for the organization’s IT vision as well as identifying and proposing new information technologies to improve business processes.

Prior to working at Members Choice CU, Farias was the information systems officer at First Bank in Conroe, Texas. In this role, Farias was responsible for directing the daily operations and maintenance of the bank’s networking technology. At First Bank, Farias worked with senior management to analyze computer system needs for management of information and functional operations.
