NO TRAVELING
Conducts periodic audits of systems and records. Assures adherence to generally accepted accounting principles and determines compliance with both credit union policy and NCUA regulations. Prepares work papers, makes recommendations for corrective action, and presents results to the Head Internal Auditor.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Review the financial and investment subsidiary records; review existing policies and procedures to insure credit union is in compliance with state and federal guidelines; monitor adherence to credit union policies; review compliance of regulations; conduct regular audit procedures and activities for all credit union branches and departments and for all accounting, operation and loan procedures; prepare written reports on internal audit reviews, including findings, analyses, and conclusions; prepare and present written and verbal reports of audit activities to the CEO; review various “spot check” internal audits, i.e. cash counts, teller drawer audits, employee accounts, loan documentation, wire transfers, etc. review random sampling of all new loans and daily reports for exceptions to policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirement:
- Bachelor’s Degree -Finance, Accounting, (required)
- CPA or training toward certification preferred
- Previous credit union experience helpful but not necessary
